We are very proud to announce that Toitū Envirocare has certified APS Complete Property Services as carbonzero. We are the first New Zealand company in our industry to achieve carbonzero certification within our own organisation, without the need to purchase carbon credits to claim this status.

This certification is a significant milestone and a clear recognition of our long‑term commitment to operating in a sustainable, environmentally responsible, and socially equitable manner. It reflects the genuine steps APS has taken to reduce emissions at source, rather than relying on external offsets.

APS is committed to continuously improving how we operate, making more sustainable choices across our projects, and increasing efficiency in our use of resources. Our focus remains on actively reducing our operational carbon footprint year on year.

Our Toitū carbonzero accreditation has been achieved through the performance of three APS-owned conservation properties, which currently sequester more carbon than is emitted through our business activities. With a fourth conservation property coming online in 2019, APS is on track to become double carbon positive within three years.

For APS, carbonzero certification is a starting point, not an end goal. We believe in restoring and enhancing the environment rather than maintaining the status quo. Our broader five‑year strategy is to become triple carbon positive, supported by continued large‑scale native planting, wetland restoration across our conservation properties, and company‑wide carbon reduction programmes.

In addition, APS can now provide robust and reliable estimates of carbon emissions for projects we quote. By choosing to partner with APS, clients gain the added benefit of understanding the carbon footprint associated with their project — with confidence that those emissions are genuinely offset by more than what is produced.

This achievement reinforces APS’ commitment to leadership in sustainability and demonstrates that meaningful environmental action can be embedded into everyday business operations.
